What a pleasant surprise! Just when I thought the orchid bloom was at its end, I found out a new shoot has silently branched out from the tip of the stalk and has five new buds!

嘩﹐ 開 了 兩 個 月 的 蘭 花 在 上 周 逐 一 凋 萎 ﹐ 誰 知 今 天 看 真 些 ﹐ 花 莖 的 尖 端 不 祇 多 了 一 條 分 枝 ﹐ 還 更 長 了 五 個 花 蕊 ﹗

This set of photos were captured by my colleague's daddy, Bob. He thought it was a Northern Harrier Hawk, but his daughter (my colleague) pointed out right away that it's a Red Tailed Hawk instead, and she was right.

This was Kerry's first time in the dog park. Although he played with the neighbor dog occassionally, he really doesn't have much socializing skill with other dogs at all.

這 是 Kerry 第 一 次 去 狗 公 園 。 雖 然 他 間 中 會 與 鄰 居 的 狗 走 玩 在 一 起 ( 每 次 時 間 都 是 非 常 短 暫 ) ﹐ 他 卻 未 曾 真 正 與 狗 有 過 接 觸 。

My friend volunteered to help out in a NYC women's running race on this Saturday.

On the shelve in our local supermarket, there was only one Stride in a lighter blue color box left, the rest were all in darker blue.

超 級 市 場 內 存 貨 只 有 一 盒 淺 色 的 ﹐ 其 餘 的 全 是 深 色 盒 子 。

We grabbed the light color pack and two of the darker colors; the darker ones were stuck together, probably due to poor packaging.

It took 3 plus long months from first sign of the orchid stalk to the blooming of the first flower, talk about patience!

蘭 花 莖 在 十 二 月 頭 開 始 出 長 ﹐ 第 一 朵 花 開 是 三 個 半 月 後 的 事 ﹐ 真 是 等 到 頸 都 長 !

多 年 來 我 一 直 有 收 藏 電 子 書 的 習 慣 ﹐ 若 得 到 一 本 不 錯 的 便 會 把 它 用 最 細 的 字 體 面 積 打 印 出 來 以 供 閱 讀 。

最 近 找 到 一 個 網 站 ﹐ 內 有 很 多 很 多 好 書 ﹐ 熱 門 新 書 還 陸 續 有 來 。

看 著 這 些 目 錄 (千 本 以 上 )﹐ 真 恨 不 得 早 早 把 好 的 讀 了 去 ﹗ 但 不 可 能 一 天 到 晚 逗 在 電 腦 旁 看 書 呢 ﹐ 對 眼 睛 也 無 益 啊 ﹗

若 打 印 ﹐ 每 頁 紙 兩 面 都 是 字 ﹐ 每 本 書 至 少 也 要 百 多 二 百 頁 ﹐ 太 重 帶 上 街 不 易 呢 ﹗

終 於 把 心 一 橫 ﹐ 買 了 一 本 電 子 書 reader ﹐ 過 了 一 周 又 買 多 一 本 給 兒 子 。

A friend asked, "Why weren't you successful with the Arabs?"

"When I got posted in the Middle East, I was very confident that I would make a good sales pitch as Cola is virtually unknown there. But, I had a problem I didn't know how to speak Arabic. So, I planned to convey the message through three posters...

I was so dead tired and my head was spinning from all the bus ride we had, so I told my family I would not join them for the morning excursion.
