Day 13 第 十 三 天

Originally we all signed up for a city sighting excursion, then I saw a flyer on snorkeling and figured the kids would rather do that, so we went our seperate merry way.

原 本 我 們 四 人 是 參 加 凱 契 根 半 日 遊 團 的 ﹐ 但 在 郵 輸 上 看 到 浮 潛 團 傳 單 ﹐ 便 讓 他 們 去 玩 水 ﹐ 我 獨 個 兒 遊 城 了 。

Day 12 第 十 二 天

Today we docked in Juneau, and we did two excursions: the Mendenhall Glacier trip was such a disappointment, but the whale watch made it all up!

Today was a port day, a busy day, first a train ride to the White Pass Summit, after lunch (on cruise ship) strolled around the historic Skagway, then went to the musher camp for a 1-mile sled dog ride.

Day 10 第 十 天

These two days were full days at sea, many would think I would be bored as I had spent most of both days in my room. Quite the contrary, I found the time went by too fast, which gave me not much time to sort out the many photos I took nor read my book. In addition, I was busy admiring the scenery.

郵 輪 這 兩 天 都 是 在 海 上 行 ﹐ 除 了 找 吃 外 ﹐ 這 兩 天 大 部 份 時 間 我 都 是 一 個 人 在 房 內 過 日 。 或 許 你 會 想 我 會 悶 ﹐ 但 我 一 些 也 不 悶 ﹗ 反 而 我 覺 得 時 間 好 不 夠 用 -- 整 理 相 片 ﹐ 看 書 ﹐ 看 陽 台 外 風 景 已 把 我 忙 死 了 ﹗

Day 8 第 八 天

Yeah, after today there would be no need to pack and unpack almost everyday! More so, starting from tonight we could eat as much we wanted without getting the expensive food bills!

好 呀 ﹐ 過 了 今 天 就 不 用 差 不 多 天 天 要 整 理 行 李 ﹗ 更 好 的 是 由 今 晚 起 就 不 用 付 貴 餐 費 了 ﹗

Day 7 第 七 天

We were really blessed! The weather had been cooperating! There were some misty moments but only happened while were on a motorcoach. I was so afriad we would not be able to see Mt. McKinley for there's only a 20% chance of having a clear sky, and guess what? We were one of the lucky 20%!

我 們 真 的 運 氣 好 ﹐ 天 氣 一 直 非 常 合 作 ﹗ 雖 然 有 時 有 毛 兩 但 每 次 都 是 當 我 們 坐 在 巴 士 上 。 我 們 多 擔 心 今 天 會 有 雨 或 大 霧 而 看 不 到 北 美 洲 的 最 高 出 峰 - 麥 肯 利 山 ﹐ 因 為 通 常 只 有 20% 機 會 率 看 到 它 的 全 貌 ﹗

Day 6 第 六 天

The 3-hour morning drive to Denali National Park was a breeze, the afternoon was at leisure. It was a take-it-easy day for me and I welcomed it!

早 上 那 三 小 時 車 程 過 得 很 快 ﹐ 下 午 是 沒 有 節 目 安 排 的 ﹔ 好 ﹐ 因 為 我 想 有 些 休 息 時 間 ﹗

Day 5 第 五 天

It was a busy day. We spent the morning on a river boat cruise, had lunch in downtown Fairbanks, did a load of laundry at the Princess Lodge, back to downtown Fairbanks for dinner and bought some needed items in Fred Meyers (Alaska's superstore).

今 天 較 忙 ﹐ 整 個 早 上 去 了 遊 船 河 ﹐ 去 市 中 心 吃 午 餐 ﹐ 返 回 旅 館 洗 衫 ﹐ 再 回 去 市 中 心 吃 晚 餐 及 去 超 市 買 用 品 。

Day 4 第 四 天

It was an uneventful day, passed the Continental Divide, passed the Arctic Circle, and still many more miles to go! The scenery in this stretch of road was average, nothing spectular. After spending 3 days in the wilderness, everyone was happy to arrive at Fairbanks. What a joy to even just look at the storefronts of Walmart, McDonald's, and Loews! More joy was to have left behind the non-flushable toilets!

整 天 坐 長 途 車 ﹐ 沒 有 甚 麼 特 別 ﹐經 過 大 陸 分 水 嶺 ﹐ 經 過 北 極 圈 ﹐ 還 有 很 多 里 路 走 ﹗ 這 段 路 景 色 普 通 ﹐ 沒 有 震 撼 感 。 三 天 在 原 始 地 區 走 動 ﹐ 到 達 文 名 社 會 的 費 爾 班 市 時 各 人 極 為 興 奮 ﹐ 最 高 興 是 與 沿 途 免 水沖 化 學 廁 所 作 告 別 ﹗

Day 3 第 三 天

Today we spent close to 9 hours on the motorcoach with a few scenic stops in between. We were fortunate to have a front row seat, thus I was able to take many pictures from inside the motorcoach.

今 天 的 行 程 是 坐 九 小 時 車 南 下 去 [ 冷 腳 ] 營 。 也 算 幸 運 ﹐ 司 機 忘 了 把 他 的 旅 行 袋 放 在 車 內 的 袋 架 上 ﹐ 當 全 車 人 安 頓 後 他 才 醒 起 ﹐ 我 們 便 立 刻 移 上 那 兩 個 空 位 。

Day 2 第 二 天

We spent most of the day doing nothing, our 2+ hour flight out to Prudhoe Bay was set at 2:15pm, there was nothing around the hotel, so we couldn't really do much. We had a full breakfast so we could skip lunch (there's a 4 hours time difference, so the breakfast time was really our lunch time), and we were to gather up in the front lobby by noon to be transported to the airport. Oh, flying again, how tiring!

大 部 份 的 今 天 可 說 是 百 費 的 ﹐ 起 床 吃 過 大 早 餐 ( 時 差 為 四 小 時 ﹐ 所 以 早 餐 其 實 是 我 們 的 午 餐 )﹐ 回 房 等 到 十 二 點 便 下 大 堂 集 合 ﹐ 又 要 捱 飛 機 ﹐ 真 可 憐 ﹗

Saw a house for sale on the web, located in Bisbee, Arizona, 82 miles south of Tucson, very close to the Mexico border (base on the map, my estimate is 10 miles, but I could be very off).

在 網 上 看 到 一 間 位 亞 里 桑 那 洲 比 斯 比 鎮 的 屋 出 售 ﹐ 離 墨 西 哥 國 我 想 大 約 是 十 公 里 。

I was drawn in by the desert view from this house's living room.

My friend Chin and his wife visited a village in China at the end of June.

小 奀 子 與 芬 e 艸 在 六 月 尾 隨 朋 友 上 朋 友 的 家 鄉 一 遊 。

It's easy to find the typical China tourist pictures, but the opportunity to see photos of a real living village is very rare, so I requested Chin to take photos for me as soon as I learned that he would be touring the country side. Unfortunatly quite a few photos were unreadable due to a partial malfunction with the camera's memory card!

雖 然 他 朋 友 的 鄉 下 與 我 的 ( 及 他 的 ) 不 同 ﹐ 因 我 從 未 踏 足 過 鄉 下 半 步﹐ 便 央 求 小 奀 子 拿 出 他 那 塵 封 多 年 的 電 子 相 機 為 我 拍 照 。 可 惜 昰 相 機 的 資 料 儲 存 咭 出 了 問 題 ﹐ 很 多 照 片 遺 失 了﹗

Since I brought a DSLR, I figured I should try it out on the firework, even I knew it wasn't easy to take good firework pictures. I have to say I'm really lucky to get a few barely passable shots; mind you, they were from the two hundred plus pictures I took!

Last Saturday was my husband's niece's high school graduation party, held at her home. Next year she'll be studing bio-engineering at Rutgers University, News Brunswick campus.

上 周 六 是 姪 女 的 畢 業 慶 祝 聚 會 ﹐ 日 間 只 請 親 人 ﹐ 旁 晚 請 來 30 位 同 學 。
