This set of photos were captured by my colleague's daddy, Bob. He thought it was a Northern Harrier Hawk, but his daughter (my colleague) pointed out right away that it's a Red Tailed Hawk instead, and she was right.

這 些 相 是 同 事 的 父 親 Bob 拍 的 ﹐ 他 以 為 是 一 隻 Northern Harrier 鷹 ﹐ 把 照 片 寄 給 女 兒 (我 同 事)﹐ 她 一 看 便 說 這 是 一 頭 紅 尾 鷹 。

If you ask me, I would tell you it's a large bird! Having grew up in the city, I can never identify the different type of birds nor have interest in learning so.

真 佩 服 他 們 有 這 種 知 識 會 得 分 便 雀 鳥 的 種 類 。 若 你 問 我 牠 是 何 種 鳥 ﹐ 我 會 回 說 是 一 隻 大 雀 仔 ﹗

My colleague spent a summer in Alaska with her uncle, who was a park ranger. He taught her a lot about wild life during her stay.

同 事 童 年 時 曾 在 阿 拉 斯 加 舅 父 家 中 渡 了 一 個 暑 假 ﹐ 他 在 國 家 公 園 做 事 ﹐ 所 以 對 野 生 動 物 方 面 的 知 識 甚 廣﹐ 那 幾 個 月 同 事 從 他 處 學 到 很 多 。

The hawk spent about 8 minutes in his back yard looking for prey, and Bob happened to have a camera nearby. Oh, I hope the poor thing was killed instantly, for I could not imagine the fear it had endured. I also hope its mommy was not there to witness her kid being snatched away.

這 頭 鷹 共 花 了 八 分 鐘 徘 徊 在 Bob 的 後 園 ﹐ 最 後 找 到 臘 物 ﹐ 可 憐 的 兔 子 ﹐ 希 望 牠 一 早 便 失 去 知 覺 ﹐ 也 希 望 牠 媽 媽 沒 有 看 著 牠 被 帶 走 的 整 個 過 程 。
