舊 香 港 才 是 我 的 香 港 ﹐ 新 香 港 對 我 來 說 是 非 常 之 陌 生 ﹐ 可 是 我 對 舊 香 港 的 記 憶 卻 不 深 ﹐ 只 記 得 往 返 學 校 的 道 路 ﹐ 及 十 數 條 late 70s 常 和 朋 友 去 逛 的 街 道 。 其 實 有 很 多 地 段 我 都 只 知 其 名 ﹐ 不 知 其 所 在 的 ﹗

Today was the 30th Five Boro Bike Tour, sponsored by the Commerce Bank.

The 42 miles Bike Tour, with more than 31,000 cyclists and 1,500 volunteers participanted, traveled through the five boroughs of New York City on traffic-free roads, with the help of City agencies and officials, the cyclists were able to relax and refuel at various rest areas. The lineup was in Battery Park, the southern tip of Manhattan (borough #1) (actually the riders are allowed to join in at any point along the desinated bike route). They then traveled up via the Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave) into Central Park, continue north to Bronx (borough #2), back to Manhattan, down the FDR Drive, crossed the Queensboro Bridge (aka the 59th Street Bridge) to Queens (borough #3), then headed south through the industrial neighborhoods, entered Brooklyn (borough #4), continued south and cross the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into the Staten Island (borough #5).

Due to fatigue, my family didn't complete the entire tour, instead they took the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan, thus ended their 6 hours journey.

這 個 非 常 有 意 義 的 公 開 性 節 目 ﹐ 限 額 為 三 萬 人 ﹐ 申 請 費 是 $45 ﹐ 全 程 42 英 里 ﹐ 每 年 紐 約 市 政 府 都 大 力 支 持 ﹐ 有 系 統 地 把 沿 途 道 路 封 閉 數 小 時 ﹐ 派 出 不 少 警 員 維 持 秩 序 ﹔ 途 中 亦 設 有 不 少 休 息 站 ﹐ 供 應 免 費 飲 料 ﹐ 香 蕉 及 餅 乾 。 其 起 點 為 曼 哈 頓 島 (Manhattan) ( 第 一 區 ) 最 南 端 的 炮 台 公 園 (Battery Park) (但 參 與 者 可 在 沿 途 任 何 地 方 加 入 )﹐ 北 上 經 過 中 城 (midtown) 進 入 中 央 公 園 (Central Park)﹐ 經 過 哈 林 區 (Harlem) ﹐過 橋 進 入 布 朗 市 (The Bronx) ( 第 二 區 )﹐ 再 南 下 返 折 回 曼 哈 頓 區 ﹐ 過 黃 后 區 大 橋 ( 又 名 59 街 橋 ) (Queensboro Bridge, aka the "59th Street Bridge") 進 入 黃 后 區 (Queens) ( 第 三 區 )﹐ 南 行 經 過 工 業 區 進 入 布 屋 崙 市 (另 一 譯 名 為 布 魯 克 林 區 ) (Brooklyn) ( 第 四 區 ), 再 經 委 拉 札 落 海 峽 橋 (Verrazano-Narrows Bridge) 進 入 史 泰 登 島 (Staten Island) ( 第 五 區 )﹐ 再 乘 免 費 渡 海 小 輪 回 返 炮 台 公 園。

家 人 參 加 了 這 個 節 目 ﹐ 可 是 他 們 沒 有 完 成 全 程 ( 體 力 有 限 )﹐ 差 不 多 六 小 時 後 從 Brooklyn Bridge (布 魯 克 林 大 橋) 折 返 曼 哈 頓 區 。

原 稱 為 紐 約 與 布 魯 克 林 大 橋（New York and Brooklyn Bridge），是 美 國 最 老 的 懸 索 橋 之 一。 其 5,988 英尺 長 的 橋 面 橫 跨 東 河 連 接 美 國 紐 約 州 紐 約 市 的 曼 哈 頓 與 布 魯 克 林。 在 1883 年 完 工 時 是 全 美 最 長 的 懸 索 橋 以 及 第 一 座 使 用 由 鋼 鐵 製 成 的 懸 索 的 橋 樑。

橋 中 上 層 是 供 行 人 用 的 ﹐ 設 有 lookout point, 吸 引 不 少 遊 客 外 ﹐ 911 那 天 交 通 停 頓 ﹐ 住 在 布 魯 克 林 的 市 居 民 只 有 用 它 來 步 行 回 家 。
